What the result includes
- Fuel and non-fuel vehicle costs, or your all-in cost per mile
- Tolls and parking for the whole trip
- The value of your round-trip driving time
Enter the miles, driving time and vehicle costs for one job. See the trip cost before profit, payment fees and sales tax.
This estimates your cost. It does not recommend what to charge the customer. Replace every sample value with a figure from your business.
Add vehicle expenses to the job's travel cost. Add driving time to your working time. Then account for the service, supplies, overhead, payment fees, profit and applicable tax.
An all-in cost per mile already includes fuel. Do not add gas again. If the route serves several customers, enter only this job's share of the trip.
At 20 MPG and $3.50 per gallon, fuel is $7. Adding $0.25 per mile for non-fuel vehicle costs makes vehicle expenses $17. One hour of driving valued at $35 brings the total trip cost to $52.
This example uses USD and US gallons. It excludes the detailing work, supplies, profit, payment fees, sales tax and any costs you do not enter.
